The Caribbean Travel Forum solidifies as a crucial gathering for the tourism industry in the region
The 3rd Caribbean Travel Forum, a key event for the tourism industry in the region, will bring together prominent leaders and experts to discuss the future of Caribbean tourism, focusing on topics such as sustainability, air connectivity, technological innovation, and multi-destination marketing.
The Caribbean Travel Forum will take place on May 20th in Jamaica, marking its third edition as a pivotal event for the tourism industry in the region. This forum will focus on analyzing and discussing the current and future tourism landscape of the Caribbean, aiming to achieve the World Travel & Tourism Council's projection of doubling the GDP and generating an additional 1.34 million jobs by 2032.
Key topics will include multi-destination marketing, air connectivity within the Caribbean, sustainability, technological innovation, the labor market, and other external factors influencing tourism. Notable figures such as Nicola Madden-Greig, President of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA); Olivier Ponti, Director of Intelligence and Marketing at ForwardKeys; Doug Lansky, travel writer and destination development advisor; and governmental leaders like Jamaica's Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, and the Minister of Tourism and Ports of the Cayman Islands, Kenneth Bryan, will participate.
Additionally, the forum will feature panels on integrated tourism development, technology in the Caribbean, sustainability and resilience, and regional marketing. Panelists will include Nataliya Mylenko from the World Bank, Adam Stewart from Sandals & Beaches Resorts, Javed Samuel from NCC Group, Frank Wolfe from HFTP, Lisa Hamilton from the US Virgin Islands Hotel and Tourism Association, Sheila Johnson from Salamander Collection, and Dr. Lisa Indar from CARPHA. The event will also include a CHTA awards luncheon, highlighting resilience and excellence in regional tourism.
The following days will be dedicated to in-person meetings and scheduled appointments for approximately 1,000 registered delegates and around 150 supplier companies from various Caribbean destinations. Representatives from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, the Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint-Martin, Sint Maarten, Trinidad and Tobago, the Turks and Caicos Islands, the US Virgin Islands, and the British Virgin Islands have registered to participate thus far.
