Buenos Aires once again becomes the epicenter of international tourism with the opening of the Latin America International Tourism Fair (FIT 2025), the region’s largest tourism event and one of the most influential in the world. Over four days —from September 27 to 30 at La Rural, Palermo Fairgrounds— the fair will bring together more than 1,700 exhibitors, 55 countries and Argentina’s 24 provinces in a venue expanded by 6% compared to the previous edition, aiming to surpass 135,000 visitors.

Opening with international figures
The official opening will feature the President of Argentina, Javier Milei, and Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, Secretary-General elect of UN Tourism, alongside top public and private sector authorities. The event coincides with World Tourism Day (September 27), reinforcing the symbolic and international significance of the fair.

“Celebrating World Tourism Day at FIT is an event of enormous importance for the entire sector. Our fair consolidates itself year after year as a must-attend meeting point where Argentine tourism showcases itself to the world,” said Andrés Deyá, President of FIT and of the Argentine Federation of Travel and Tourism Business Associations (FAEVYT).

Portugal, guest country of honor
Portugal will be the 2025 guest country and will showcase its cultural and tourism diversity with a landmark stand. Creative gastronomy, wines, surfing, nature and art will headline a space that presents the country as a modern, innovative and authentic destination. “Argentina is a priority market,” emphasized Bernardo Barreiros Cardoso, Visit Portugal’s Director for South America, highlighting the reactivation of the Buenos Aires–Lisbon air route and the projected growth in tourism exchanges.

A mega-stage for Argentine tourism
FIT 2025 will not only display international attractions but also the richness of domestic tourism through FIT Nacional, a 9,200 m² space where all Argentine provinces will present their offerings. There will be adventure and nature tourism in FIT Outdoor, gastronomic experiences in FIT Food, innovation and digital solutions in FIT Tech, and the FEMTUR International Meeting, featuring women leaders in the sector.

Among the highlights are the Fashion & Travel Show, FIT Fiestas & Show, and the fifth edition of the Campionato Pizzaioli with master pizza makers from across South America.

Rio de Janeiro brings the Yup Star and its iconic attractions
One of the major international attractions will be the stand of the State Government of Rio de Janeiro, with 300 m² dedicated to the “My Destination is Rio de Janeiro” project. The star will be the Yup Star Rio Ferris wheel, offering visitors panoramic views of the fair. The space will also feature iconic attractions such as Christ the Redeemer, the Sugarloaf Cable Car and Copacabana Beach recreated in the heart of Buenos Aires.

A business hub for the tourism industry
FIT 2025 will once again be the key meeting point for tourism professionals with its traditional Business Rounds (Monday, September 29 and Tuesday, September 30), bringing together buyers from across Latin America to create new business opportunities and strengthen strategic ties. In addition, the Travel Forum Latam will focus on technological innovation, artificial intelligence and sustainable tourism.

With areas dedicated to gastronomy, fashion, technology and interactive experiences, FIT 2025 promises to be the most diverse and innovative edition to date. The fair not only showcases the tourism potential of Argentina and the world but also acts as a platform to drive growth, employment and economic development in the region.
