CHTA Unveils AI Guidebook 2.0 to Empower Caribbean Tourism with Smart, Responsible Innovation
The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) has launched the second edition of its Artificial Intelligence Transformation Guide for Caribbean Tourism, an expanded and updated tool designed to help hospitality and tourism stakeholders adopt AI in a human-centered and culturally sensitive way.
Developed by the CHTA Technology Task Force, co-led by Christus Gill, Version 2.0 builds on the 2024 original by integrating new case studies, real-world hotel use cases, and the latest AI trends. It also includes clear guidance on data preparedness, sustainability, and ethical governance.
“AI is no longer a future concept—it’s part of our present,” said CHTA President Sanovnik Destang. “This guide reflects our commitment to helping Caribbean members thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.”
Divided into five main sections, the guide covers:
- The foundations of AI and emerging technologies
- Hospitality-specific use cases (e.g., guest personalization, predictive maintenance, energy management)
- Responsible AI adoption, data privacy, and governance
- Change management and team empowerment
- New trends such as AI agents, voice assistants, and robotics
CHTA emphasizes that AI is meant to enhance, not replace, human teams—supporting operations and elevating guest experiences.
“This guide is meant to be approachable,” said Christus Gill. “Even small steps can help hospitality teams improve service, efficiency, and competitiveness.”
The guide is now available to CHTA members committed to embracing sustainable and inclusive digital transformation in the Caribbean tourism industry.
