BUDAPEST, May 30, 2026 – Paris Saint-Germain cemented its place among Europe’s football elite by winning a second consecutive UEFA Champions League title after defeating Arsenal 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time in Budapest.

Managed by Luis Enrique, PSG successfully defended the European crown and secured the second Champions League trophy in club history, both achieved under the Spanish coach.

Arsenal started strongly and took an early lead through Kai Havertz in the opening minutes of the match. Mikel Arteta’s side remained organized defensively and protected its advantage for much of the contest.

PSG responded after halftime and equalized in the 62nd minute when Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé converted a penalty following a foul on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Both teams created chances during extra time, but neither could find a winning goal. The title was ultimately decided in a dramatic penalty shootout.

The decisive moment came when Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães sent his penalty over the crossbar, allowing PSG to celebrate another European triumph.

The victory confirms PSG’s emergence as a dominant force in European football and marks the first successful Champions League title defense since Real Madrid’s historic run under Zinedine Zidane.

Led by stars such as Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Marquinhos, Paris Saint-Germain continues to build a legacy that could define a new era in European club football.
