Toronto CityPASS Adds Art Gallery of Ontario in Bid to Attract More U.S. Travelers
Toronto CityPASS has expanded its cultural offering with the addition of the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), a move designed to strengthen Toronto’s appeal among U.S. travelers seeking more immersive and value-driven experiences in Canada.
The AGO officially joined the Toronto CityPASS program on March 31, giving visitors access to one of Canada’s most important cultural institutions through the bundled attraction pass. CityPASS, which operates in 17 major cities across the United States and Canada, is widely used by American travelers looking to save on admission to leading attractions.
The addition is particularly significant for the U.S. market, where demand for short-haul international trips and cultural tourism continues to grow. For American visitors considering a getaway to Toronto, the expanded CityPASS package now combines iconic attractions such as the CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada with the possibility of including the AGO among three additional options.
“The Art Gallery of Ontario is an essential cultural destination, and we're pleased to welcome it to the Toronto CityPASS program,” said Megan Allen, President and CEO of City Pass, Inc. “This partnership reinforces our mission to make world-class experiences more affordable, accessible and convenient for travelers.”
One of North America’s largest art museums, the Art Gallery of Ontario houses more than 120,000 works, including major pieces by Canadian, Indigenous and European artists. The museum is home to the world’s largest public collection of sculptures by Henry Moore and includes works by Peter Paul Rubens, Pablo Picasso, Emily Carr and the Group of Seven.
Among the AGO’s most popular attractions for international visitors is Yayoi Kusama’s immersive installation “INFINITY MIRRORED ROOM – LET’S SURVIVE FOREVER,” which has become a major draw for younger travelers and social media-driven tourism.
The museum is also undergoing a major expansion project scheduled for completion in 2027. The new Dani Reiss Modern and Contemporary Gallery will significantly increase exhibition space and further position the AGO as a must-see attraction for travelers visiting Toronto.
For the U.S. market, Toronto CityPASS offers a competitive value proposition. The package provides up to 38% savings on admission to five attractions and is priced at CAD$134.96 for adults and CAD$99.96 for children ages 4 to 12, before taxes. Tickets remain valid for nine consecutive days, making the pass especially attractive for American families and long-weekend visitors.
In addition to the CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, travelers can choose three attractions from the following list: the Royal Ontario Museum, City Cruises Toronto, Casa Loma, Toronto Zoo and now the Art Gallery of Ontario.
The program is tailored to the growing trend among U.S. travelers who increasingly seek flexible, mobile-first and experience-focused vacations. CityPASS tickets are delivered digitally and can be managed through the My CityPASS app, which includes attraction details, special offers and upgrades.
Toronto remains one of the easiest international destinations for Americans to access, with extensive air service from major U.S. cities and a favorable exchange rate that often makes travel to Canada more affordable. By adding the AGO, Toronto CityPASS is positioning itself not only as a sightseeing product, but also as a gateway to the city’s expanding cultural scene.
