San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina. San Rafael Diagnostic Center has been selected to present an original scientific study at the upcoming annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), one of the world's most prestigious international conferences in medical imaging.

The research, titled "A Pictorial Review of Quality Criteria and Technical Artifacts in Mammography," was selected from more than 11,000 submissions, highlighting the academic excellence and scientific expertise of the Mendoza-based medical team.

Representing the Diagnostic Center will be Dr. Camila Pla, a radiologist and breast imaging specialist accredited in breast disease by the Argentine Society of Mastology, and Dr. María Lourdes Chain Díaz, a diagnostic imaging specialist who recently joined the center after completing advanced training at the renowned Oulton Institute in Córdoba, Argentina.

The study aims to provide radiologists and breast imaging professionals with a comprehensive review of the quality criteria for mammography while identifying the most common technical artifacts that may interfere with image interpretation. Its objective is to improve diagnostic accuracy and contribute to the early detection of breast cancer through high-quality imaging practices.

Mammography remains the gold standard for breast cancer screening and has been shown to reduce breast cancer mortality by 30% to 40% through the early detection of disease.

The selection of San Rafael Diagnostic Center to present at RSNA 2026 represents a significant achievement for Argentine medicine and highlights the growing international recognition of healthcare professionals from Mendoza. The annual RSNA meeting is considered one of the leading global forums for scientific exchange, innovation, and advances in radiology and medical imaging.
