Royal Caribbean and Australia's beloved children's entertainment group, The Wiggles, have launched a unique environmental initiative that combines family vacations with conservation efforts ahead of Australia's National Tree Day on July 26. The partnership will see native trees planted across Queensland and New South Wales for the first 1,000 families who book one of the specially themed Wiggly Cruises during the 2026-2027 summer season.

The campaign celebrates the arrival of the iconic Tree of Wisdom, one of The Wiggles' most recognizable characters, onboard Royal Caribbean's Wiggly-themed sailings. Through a $20,000 donation from the Royal Caribbean Group Foundation to environmental organization Planet Ark, the initiative aims to leave a lasting environmental legacy while creating unforgettable family holiday experiences.

The collaboration brings together three iconic Australian brands: Royal Caribbean, The Wiggles, and Planet Ark, one of the country's leading environmental not-for-profit organizations. The initiative reflects a growing trend within the travel industry, where tourism experiences increasingly incorporate sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Kathryn Lock, Senior Marketing Director for Royal Caribbean Australia and New Zealand, said the program transforms the excitement of a family holiday into meaningful environmental action.

"We are thrilled to bring the joy of a Wiggly holiday together with a meaningful environmental legacy. By supporting native tree planting, we are turning holiday excitement into real action," she said.

Following the success of the first Wiggly Cruises, Royal Caribbean is expanding the experience with the addition of the much-loved Tree of Wisdom character, offering families even more interactive entertainment onboard.

Planet Ark CEO Adam Culley welcomed the partnership, emphasizing that involving families in environmental initiatives can inspire future generations to care for nature.

"This initiative doesn't just plant trees. It helps create a culture of environmental stewardship, showing families that small actions can produce lasting positive change," Culley said.

The cruises themselves promise an immersive entertainment program featuring The Wiggles and their Wiggly Friends, including Tsehay Hawkins (Yellow Wiggle), Lucia Field (Blue Wiggle), Caterina Mete (Red Wiggle), and Dominic Field as the Tree of Wisdom. Guests will enjoy sail-away parties, live performances, family discos, interactive shows, meet-and-greet sessions, and exclusive photo opportunities throughout each voyage.

Dominic Field said the initiative teaches children that protecting the environment can be part of everyday fun.

"We want every family to feel that their holiday creates a positive legacy that grows alongside them, helping protect our planet for future generations," he said.

The 2026-2027 season includes three themed sailings departing from Brisbane and Sydney. The first is a four-night cruise aboard Quantum of the Seas to Airlie Beach on November 30, 2026. A second four-night voyage aboard Anthem of the Seas will sail from Sydney to Hobart on March 1, 2027. The final itinerary is a seven-night South Pacific cruise aboard Quantum of the Seas departing Brisbane on March 19, 2027.

By combining entertainment, education and sustainability, Royal Caribbean and The Wiggles are demonstrating how family tourism can create meaningful environmental impact while delivering memorable vacation experiences.
