The St. Martin Tourism Office, in collaboration with Aviareps, organized an exclusive event for travel agents and journalists to highlight the latest updates from this idyllic Caribbean destination, which will play a central role in the 28th edition of the Latin American International Tourism Fair (FIT).

Priscillia Wachter, Deputy General Director of the St. Martin Tourism Office · Discover Saint-Martin, and Christopher Rodriguez, Tourism Counselor of St. Martin, were in charge of sharing the latest updates.

Priscillia Wachter discussed the most important aspects of the destination during her presentation.

"Today, we are here to provide information about the St. Martin destination to agencies and attract new clients. We give them all the details about the activities and updates we are offering for the different types of clients visiting St. Martin," explained Wachter.

She also emphasized the ease of access from Argentina: "It’s important to know that when you come to St. Martin, the flight from Argentina takes approximately 7 hours. Moreover, when you arrive in St. Martin, you have the possibility to visit five other nearby islands."

Regarding the destination’s main attractions, Wachter expressed: "Oh my God, I would say, first of all, St. Martin is truly the capital of gastronomy, as we say, because in St. Martin you have a blend of local culinary culture mixed with international flavors. There are many activities, 163 in total to enjoy, and of course, the old town. We specialize in boutique hotels."

Finally, she spoke about a key gastronomic event for the destination: "The Gastronomy Festival will be held from November 11th to 22nd every year. This event is 100% organized by St. Martin. We try to showcase the culinary culture we enjoy on the island. During this time, we will have around 13 international chefs who will work with our local chefs to create a unique experience. There will be 10 days of activities in the gastronomy village, a chef competition, and mixologist events. It is very important for us to create an event focused on gastronomy in St. Martin."

For his part, Christopher Rodriguez emphasized the strategy of positioning St. Martin as a high-end and exclusive destination:

"It’s a great pleasure to be here in Argentina to present the latest updates from St. Martin. Our current mission is to offer a St. Martin experience that is not focused on mass tourism, but rather on high-quality service and a premium experience. This does not mean that prices to access St. Martin will be higher; rather, the experience will be significantly better. We are focusing on boutique and high-quality hotels to provide a more personalized service, especially tailored for Argentine visitors to St. Martin."

Rodriguez highlighted several key aspects for Argentine travelers interested in discovering St. Martin, from the best way to get there to the unique experiences the destination offers:

"Currently, the best option to reach St. Martin is through Copa Airlines, which connects Argentine travelers via Panama with direct flights to the island. Additionally, we are promoting the 'In St. Martin' campaign, aimed at emphasizing the benefits of the low season. During these months, from May to November, prices are more accessible, allowing Argentine visitors to enjoy St. Martin on a more affordable budget."

Regarding activities and attractions, Rodriguez underscored the variety of options available:

"St. Martin offers both land and water activities. From must-visit iconic locations to aquatic experiences such as diving and sailing, like the renowned Creol Rock in the nature reserve and the magnetic museum. We are working to attract more Latin American tourists during the low season, taking advantage of the lower prices and exclusive experiences."

Finally, with optimism about the growth potential of Latin American tourism in St. Martin, Rodriguez expressed his desire to significantly increase the number of visitors from the region:

"During the high season, most visitors are Americans and Canadians, but we see great potential to increase Latin American participation, aiming for a 60 to 65% increase during the low season. We are confident that special offers and the quality of experiences will guarantee success."

In addition to enjoying the wonders of St. Martin, it is also very interesting to plan a multi-destination trip that includes other nearby islands, such as St. Barth and Anguilla. These islands, known for their natural beauty and exclusivity, offer the perfect combination for those seeking a varied Caribbean experience, full of luxury and adventure.
