Gloria Guevara: "We are on track to make Saudi Arabia one of the top 10 international tourist destinations"
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia achieved the goal of 100 million domestic and international tourists by the end of 2023, thereby reaching the target set seven years ahead of what was established in its original plan, positioning itself as a global tourist destination.
Gloria Guevara Manzo, Special Advisor to the Saudi Ministry of Tourism, stated, "I believe we are on track to make Saudi Arabia one of the top 10 international tourist destinations" and that "this country has the potential and will reach the top 5 globally."
She mentioned that the achieved goal has been possible thanks to the leadership and collaboration among all relevant entities in the travel and tourism sector, in line with the "Vision 2030" program, which aims to position the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the international stage.
Guevara acknowledged the leadership of H.R.H. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his unprecedented vision and support to the sector, as well as HE Ahmed Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism, for the excellent execution, along with his entire team.
Additionally, she highlighted the strong support from Deputy Minister Princess Haifay; Fahd Hamidaddin, CEO of the promoting entity (STA); Qusai Al-Fakhri, CEO of the Tourism Development Fund, as well as Mohammed Asiri, responsible for the regulatory agency for the Red Sea, the leaders of the mega-projects, and all those involved in their execution.

The announcement was made by the Saudi Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al Khateeb, during an Investment Forum held in the city of Riyadh. The official detailed that the universe of 100 million tourists includes 77 million domestic tourists and 27 million international ones.
The new goal set by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia envisions 150 million tourists in the country by the year 2030, including 80 million domestic tourists and 70 million foreigners.
