Youth from 100 countries are participating in the activities of the MENA 2023 Climate Week in Riyadh

More than 600 young people from 100 countries participated in the MENA 2023 Climate Week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, organized by the Global Center for Sustainable Tourism (STGC). The contribution of these young people was crucial in advancing the search for solutions towards achieving zero emissions in the travel and tourism sector.
The STGC aims to engage young people globally in the fight against climate change and in promoting sustainable practices in the tourism industry, especially among small and medium-sized enterprises, travelers, and destinations. During the meeting, the goal was set to form a community of 100,000 young people from over 150 countries by 2030.

The MENA 2023 Climate Week was an opportunity for young leaders to come together in sessions on sustainability and discuss the challenges and opportunities in the sector, as well as the role they will play in the transition to a sustainable future.
The STGC plans to partner with more universities and organizations worldwide to provide young people with access to best practice solutions and cutting-edge case studies, as well as support in advocacy and training programs related to sustainable tourism. Youth participation is a fundamental part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
Gloria Guevara Manzo, Chief Special Advisor to the Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, highlighted the importance of listening to and acting upon the opinions of young people, acknowledging their fundamental role in building a more sustainable tourism sector.
The STGC aims to involve young people in building a more sustainable and inclusive travel and tourism industry, providing them with knowledge and tools to promote responsible practices. During the week, the Global Solutions Center was unveiled, aimed at providing solutions to SMEs, travelers, and destinations to accelerate their transition to sustainability.
