Barbados Selected to Host the 45th Edition of Caribbean Travel Marketplace in 2027
The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) has announced that Barbados will host Caribbean Travel Marketplace (CTM) 2027, the Caribbean's premier business-to-business tourism event, scheduled to take place from May 18-21, 2027.
The announcement was made during Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2026 in Antigua and Barbuda, where tourism leaders from across the region gathered to strengthen partnerships and explore new business opportunities.
The 2027 edition will mark the 45th anniversary of Caribbean Travel Marketplace, one of the region's most influential tourism events. The annual gathering brings together international buyers, destinations, hotels, attractions, transportation companies, and tourism partners through pre-scheduled business meetings designed to generate meaningful commercial results.
"Barbados has long played an important leadership role in Caribbean tourism and within CHTA," said Vanessa Ledesma, Chief Executive Officer of CHTA. "We are thrilled to bring Caribbean Travel Marketplace to Barbados in 2027, marking the 45th edition of this historic event. We look forward to delivering an elevated attendee experience with innovative formats and expanded global business opportunities."
Barbados Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Hon. G.P. Ian Gooding-Edghill, welcomed the announcement, emphasizing its significance for the island's tourism sector.
"Hosting Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2027 is an important opportunity for Barbados and a reflection of the confidence placed in our tourism product, our people, and our infrastructure. It will create economic value, strengthen regional collaboration, and further position Barbados as a leader in Caribbean tourism," he said.
The news was also celebrated by the Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association. Chairman Javon Griffith noted that the event represents an opportunity to showcase the destination to global tourism stakeholders while highlighting the island's renowned hospitality.
Caribbean Travel Marketplace is widely recognized as the region's leading B2B tourism event, connecting Caribbean suppliers with international buyers and helping drive tourism growth throughout the region.
With Barbados preparing to host the event in 2027, the destination is expected to welcome tourism professionals from around the world for four days of networking, business development, and collaboration focused on the future of Caribbean tourism.
