MONACO — Mercedes sensation Andrea Kimi Antonelli delivered another masterclass on Sunday, winning the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix and securing his fifth consecutive Formula One victory.

Starting from pole position, the 19-year-old Italian controlled the race throughout a dramatic afternoon that featured multiple retirements, safety cars, penalties and a late red-flag stoppage. Despite the interruptions, Antonelli remained calm during the final restart and successfully defended his lead to take another important victory.

Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton finished second for the second race in a row, while Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar inherited third place after post-race penalties reshuffled the final classification.

The race saw several high-profile retirements, including Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, while George Russell's championship hopes suffered a major blow after penalties dropped the Mercedes driver outside the points.

Antonelli's latest triumph extends his championship lead to 66 points and further strengthens his position as the overwhelming favorite for the 2026 Formula One World Championship. The Italian has emerged as one of the sport's brightest stars and is already rewriting record books with his remarkable start to the season.

Further down the order, Argentina's Franco Colapinto completed a difficult race for Alpine amid the chaos that unfolded during the closing stages of the event.
