Las Vegas Secures Formula 1 Grand Prix Through 2027 With $20 Million Sponsorship Deal
The Las Vegas Grand Prix will remain on the Formula 1 calendar through 2027 after the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) approved a $20 million sponsorship agreement. The deal allocates $10 million per year for the 2026 and 2027 races, a significant increase from the previous $6.5 million annual contract.
The sponsorship also covers a transportation program for Strip employees and ticket purchases by the LVCVA’s tourism division — expenses previously approved separately.
Steve Hill, LVCVA president and CEO, emphasized the goal of keeping the race as a fixed event on the weekend before Thanksgiving. Formula 1’s parent company, Liberty Media, invested $500 million ahead of the inaugural 2023 race to purchase land and build the pit building and the Grand Prix Plaza.
The economic impact is substantial: the 2024 race drew a three-day crowd of 306,000, including 175,000 unique visitors, generating an estimated $934 million for Las Vegas. For 2025, projections show at least $250 million in impact, boosted by ticket prices roughly 30% lower than last year.
Roadwork for the 3.8-mile street circuit has been streamlined, reducing traffic disruptions. With this extension, Las Vegas and Formula 1 strengthen a strategic alliance that could extend beyond 2027, provided the event remains logistically and financially viable.
