Montego Bay, Jamaica – During the Caribbean Travel Marketplace 42 held in Jamaica, Ellison “Tommy” Thompson, CEO of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, shared the latest updates and highlighted events that the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis has planned for this summer. With a variety of opportunities to explore the island's rich heritage, the “Summer of Fun” offers a unique experience that sets St. Kitts apart from other Caribbean destinations.

St. Kitts, the larger of the two islands in the Federation, features 18 miles of green mountain ranges stretching from Mount Waimea in the north to the southern peninsula. Each experience on the island is completely different, reflecting its diversity in culture and landscapes. Covering an area of 69 square miles, the island operates at a leisurely pace and does not observe daylight saving time, offering visitors a relaxed and authentic escape.

New Airline Services and International Connections

Thompson enthusiastically announced the expansion of air services, highlighting that starting December 5, American Airlines will offer direct flights from Miami until March 31. Additionally, there will be special services during the St. Kitts Music Festival with additional flights on June 27 and 30, and July 1.

“We are very pleased to announce that American Airlines will extend its flights from JFK and Charlotte until August, and United will also continue its services from New York until the same month,” Thompson explained. “Delta will operate a new service from JFK starting December 23 until April 19.”

Furthermore, American Airlines is expected to use its Airbus A321 aircraft from Miami and Charlotte, and Sunrise Airways will launch an inaugural service with Embraer aircraft. Air Canada's Rouge will also resume flights from Toronto in December.

Recognitions and Media Coverage

St. Kitts continues to establish itself as a premier destination, being named one of the Best Caribbean Islands to Visit in 2024 by The Knot, Caribbean Journal, and Condé Nast Traveler, and one of the 10 Best Places to Visit in April 2024 by AFAR. Earlier this year, it received quality media coverage from publications such as Lonely Planet, which highlighted the top 15 things to do in St. Kitts, and Travel Weekly, which featured Caribelle Batik as a must-see location.

“Our new campaigns and promotions will help keep the momentum going throughout 2024 and beyond,” commented Thompson. “We look forward to increasing awareness, sharing the beauty of the island, and providing a memorable travel experience to those visiting St. Kitts.”

With a focus on culture, adventure, music, and cuisine, the “Summer of Fun” in St. Kitts promises to be a standout season, offering visitors countless ways to enjoy everything the island has to offer.
