President Tsai Ing-wen wished Taiwanese people a Happy Lunar New Year in a very heartfelt message.

On the eve of the Lunar New Year, President Tsai Ing-wen extended her sincere wishes to everyone for a joyful Lunar New Year. She expressed hope that individuals and their loved ones enjoy the warmth and unity of the festive season. "Let's work together to make the upcoming Year of the Dragon a success for all!" she remarked.

The outgoing president underscored Taiwan's commitment to collaborating with its democratic partners to maintain peace and stability.

This marked Tsai's final Lunar New Year speech as president, emphasizing that Taiwan will strive for cooperation, prosperity, and integration with the world. Despite facing volatile international circumstances, Tsai highlighted Taiwan's resilience in overcoming challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, through the collective efforts of the public.

President Tsai expressed her gratitude to the military, law enforcement, coast guard, firefighters, and healthcare workers for their dedicated service during the Lunar New Year holidays, from February 8 to 14.

After serving as president of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for eight years, Tsai will step down from office on May 20.
