India and Argentina Strengthen Trade Ties with a New Business Meeting in Buenos Aires
India’s Ambassador to Argentina, Ajaneesh Kumar, inaugurated a business-to-business meeting featuring six ceramic manufacturers and exporters from Gujarat. The event aimed to explore new commercial opportunities, connect Indian producers with Argentine buyers, and diversify bilateral trade.
India and Argentina are seeking to expand their commercial relationship through new business opportunities for the ceramic industry. On October 20, a B2B meeting was held at the Buenos Aires Downtown Marriott Hotel, bringing together Indian manufacturers and exporters with potential buyers, importers, and distributors from Argentina.
The event was inaugurated by India’s Ambassador to Argentina, Ajaneesh Kumar, and featured Hawk Granito, Embito Granito LLP, Granoland, Four Tile, Lonix Ceramica LLP, and Premium Tiles. The companies are based in Morbi, in the Indian state of Gujarat, a region recognized for its concentration of ceramic manufacturers and its strong export capacity.
During the meeting, the companies presented a range of products, including porcelain tiles, floor and wall coverings, and large-format slabs. The business meetings provided an opportunity to explore sourcing, distribution, and sales possibilities, while establishing direct contacts that could lead to future commercial agreements between companies in both countries.
The Embassy of India highlighted that the initiative is part of its efforts to diversify bilateral trade and further strengthen the Strategic Partnership between India and Argentina. The meeting also sought to introduce new industrial sectors to Argentine buyers and expand economic cooperation beyond traditional areas of trade.
Bilateral Trade Exceeds US$6.9 Billion
In 2025, trade between Argentina and India exceeded US$6.91 billion, according to figures released by the Indian diplomatic mission. India ranked as Argentina’s fifth-largest trading partner that year. Argentine exports to India reached approximately US$5.47 billion, while Indian exports to the Argentine market totaled around US$1.44 billion.
These figures reflect the importance of the bilateral commercial relationship, although trade remains heavily weighted toward Argentine exports. In this context, diversifying products and suppliers represents an opportunity to expand business operations and develop new partnerships between companies.
India’s ceramic industry aims to tap into this potential by establishing direct connections with Argentine importers and distributors. For the participating companies, the Argentine market offers an opportunity to showcase their products, understand local demand, and build long-term commercial relationships.
The business meeting adds to diplomatic and private-sector initiatives aimed at deepening economic ties between the two countries, which established a Strategic Partnership in 2019. Developing new business contacts, exploring investment opportunities, and securing commercial agreements will be key to turning these meetings into tangible opportunities for companies in Argentina and India.
