The St. Kitts Tourism Authority presented its strategic tourism vision at the Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2026, focusing on strengthening cultural identity, expanding experiential tourism, and delivering authentic visitor experiences rooted in local heritage.

During the briefing, CEO Anne Kelly Fontenelle-Clarke highlighted the importance of the upcoming St. Kitts Music Festival, scheduled for late June, which for nearly 30 years has helped redefine the island’s summer tourism season, attracting visitors from across the Caribbean and international markets.

A key focus was also placed on the destination’s culinary evolution, with the transformation of Restaurant Month into a broader culinary celebration throughout July, showcasing local chefs, farmers, producers, and St. Kitts’ growing gastronomic identity.

Officials emphasized that the destination strategy goes beyond arrival numbers, prioritizing intentional tourism growth, community benefit, sustainability, and the creation of emotional connections between visitors and the destination.

Nevis Focuses on Boutique Luxury, Culture and Nature-Led Tourism Toward 2026

As part of the regional press conference, the Nevis Tourism Authority outlined its 2026 strategy, positioning the island as a leading boutique luxury, wellness, and nature-based destination in the Caribbean.

The CEO of the Nevis Tourism Authority, Andia Ravariere, highlighted the destination’s ongoing transformation toward a refined “barefoot luxury” positioning, emphasizing authenticity, cultural heritage, and immersive visitor experiences.

Ravariere underscored that Nevis continues to strengthen its brand identity as a low-density, high-value destination where nature, history, and hospitality converge. She noted that the island offers a distinct Caribbean experience focused on tranquility, emotional connection, and meaningful travel.

In her remarks, she highlighted that Nevis, covering just 36 square miles, concentrates a remarkable density of historical and cultural assets, including its colonial heritage, its connection to historical figures such as Alexander Hamilton, and its longstanding recognition as the birthplace of hospitality in the Caribbean.

She also emphasized the island’s positioning in premium travel segments such as luxury tourism, wellness travel, and boutique escapes, supported by a curated portfolio of high-end resorts, historic inns, and private villas designed to deliver immersive experiences.

On connectivity, Ravariere pointed to improved regional access through new air services from St. Maarten to Nevis operated by Winair, as well as seamless connections via St. Kitts with short ferry transfers, strengthening accessibility from major Caribbean gateways and international hubs.

She concluded that Nevis’ development strategy is centered on sustainable, value-driven tourism growth, prioritizing community benefits, environmental preservation, and the protection of the island’s cultural and natural identity.
