Grenada Showcases Authentic, Nature-Based and Culinary Tourism at CTM 2026
Grenada Tourism Authority Chairman Randall Dolland highlighted during Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2026 the growing interest among international travelers — particularly from Latin America — in discovering Caribbean destinations that offer authenticity, strong cultural identity, preserved nature, and distinctive culinary experiences.
Dolland emphasized that Grenada positions itself as a destination centered around its main natural assets: crystal-clear waters, complementary islands such as Carriacou and Petite Martinique, and rich biodiversity that reinforces its appeal as a nature tourism destination. Added to this is the island’s culinary identity, which has earned it international recognition as the “Spice Isle” due to its production of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, cocoa, and artisanal chocolate.
From a tourism perspective, Grenada presents itself as a low-density destination featuring high-quality beaches such as Grand Anse Beach, world-class diving sites with reefs and underwater sculptures, and natural attractions like Grand Etang National Park, where tropical rainforest, hiking trails, and volcanic crater lakes combine to create immersive nature experiences.
This blend of nature, gastronomy, and outdoor adventure strengthens Grenada’s positioning as an active tourism destination within the Caribbean, appealing to travelers seeking more personalized and experiential trips.
Regarding accessibility, official destination information confirms that travelers from Argentina and Brazil do not require a visa to enter Grenada for tourism purposes, facilitating visitor flows from Latin America. In most cases, tourists receive entry authorization upon arrival at Maurice Bishop International Airport, provided they hold a valid passport and return ticket under a simplified short-stay entry process.
Strategically, Grenada has been increasing its presence in Latin American markets, driven by growing demand for nature travel, gastronomy, and cultural experiences. This trend aligns with the broader Caribbean strategy of market diversification and attracting travelers with longer stays and higher spending patterns, particularly within experiential tourism segments.
Grenada also maintains a tourism offering that combines relaxation, world-class diving, hiking, cultural festivals, and strong local identity, positioning the destination as an alternative within the Caribbean to more mass-market destinations, with a focus on authenticity, sustainability, and low tourism density.
