Kissimmee sees strong growth in Argentine tourist arrivals, says DT Minich
Buenos Aires. During a luncheon with specialized media, the President and CEO of Experience Kissimmee, DT Minich, highlighted the strong growth of the Argentine market and outlined new strategies to further promote the destination in the country.
The meeting, coordinated by Alex Obaditch, saw Minich express clear optimism about this trend:
“We are seeing very strong growth from the Argentine market. Arrivals are up 44% this year, even without direct flights, and with some tour operators we’re seeing increases of up to 200%.”
He emphasized that Argentina has become a priority market and noted that additional promotional initiatives are being considered in cities such as Córdoba and Rosario to sustain this momentum.
A lodging model redefining the travel experience
One of the key highlights was the concept of vacation homes, a major differentiator for Kissimmee compared to Orlando.
“These are communities with hundreds of homes ranging from three to more than ten bedrooms, each with a private pool and full amenities. Many also include resort-style services such as restaurants, fitness centers, and transportation to the parks.”
This model blends privacy and convenience:
“You get the benefits of a resort with the comfort of your own home. After a day at the parks, you can cook or simply walk to a restaurant.”
He also underscored competitive pricing:
“A three-bedroom home can start at around $200 per night, making it highly competitive with hotels.”
Strategic location and connectivity
Kissimmee is the hub for vacation homes due to zoning regulations in Orlando:
“Unlike Orlando, where this type of development is not allowed, Kissimmee is the center of the vacation home market.”
Proximity is a key advantage:
“We are 15–20 minutes from Disney, 20–25 minutes from Universal and SeaWorld, and close to Orlando International Airport.”
Many communities also offer complimentary transportation, reducing the need for rental cars.
Nature and unique experiences
Beyond theme parks, the destination offers strong nature-based tourism:
“We offer airboat rides at the headwaters of the Everglades, ziplining over alligator areas, treetop adventures, and kayaking in natural environments.”
Minich summarized:
“We offer the best of both worlds—world-class man-made attractions and incredible natural experiences.”
A growing Latin identity
Cultural affinity is another strength:
“57% of our population is Hispanic, making it easy for visitors to find Spanish or Portuguese speakers.”
The recently launched Latin Culinary Trail showcases authentic Latin American cuisine:
“Many are family-owned restaurants with traditional recipes, connecting visitors to flavors from home.”
Infrastructure and future developments
Growth is supported by major investments:
“There is a $4 billion expansion in road infrastructure to improve access.”
Connectivity is also enhanced by Brightline, linking Miami and Orlando.
New large-scale developments such as Everest Place and Ovation are underway, featuring luxury hotels, retail, and dining experiences, expected to open by 2028.
From family travel to ultra-luxury
Accommodation options range widely:
“Homes can go up to 22 bedrooms, with theaters, bowling alleys, elevators, and personalized services such as chefs and butlers—used even by celebrities and royal families.”
A destination on the rise
The meeting confirmed Kissimmee’s positioning as a strategic and dynamic destination, combining theme parks, nature, culture, and innovative lodging.
The sustained growth of the Argentine market reinforces its importance within Kissimmee’s international strategy.
