The highly anticipated iPhone 17 launch in India spiraled into chaos on Friday as thousands of eager buyers lined up outside Apple Stores across the country. By 8 a.m., when doors opened in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Pune, many had already been waiting overnight to get their hands on Apple’s newest devices.

At the Mumbai Apple Store in BKC Jio Centre, the frenzy reached its peak. A video posted by PTI showed large crowds pushing, shoving, and even throwing punches, while security officials tried to intervene and remove aggressors from the line.

The rush coincided with the release of the entire iPhone 17 lineup —including iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max— as well as the latest Apple Watch models and AirPods Pro 3.

One buyer, Mohan Yadav, told ANI, “I have been waiting since morning. People are breaking lines, and security is not taking responsibility. Those standing behind are losing their chance to buy the product.”

This episode highlights India’s growing appetite for Apple products and how the brand’s fanbase continues to surge, pushing security and crowd management to the limit during major product launches.
