Travel Industry Leaders Kick Off 24th WTTC Global Summit in Perth (Boorloo), Australia, Aiming to Forge a New Vision for the Sector
Perth (Boorloo), Australia: The 24th annual Global Summit of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) officially began today in Perth (Boorloo), Australia, with its Global Leaders' Dialogue (GLD) serving as a platform for government officials and industry leaders to discuss new strategies aimed at shaping the future of the global Travel & Tourism sector.
During the GLD, participants focused on strengthening resilience and exploring new avenues for growth within the industry. Emphasis was placed on creating robust public-private partnerships, which are seen as crucial for leveraging the strengths and opportunities that Travel & Tourism offer.
Key areas identified for investment included technology integration, sustainable practices, and infrastructure development. These initiatives aim to enhance the travel experience while driving economic growth and generating high-quality jobs across the sector.
The event concluded with a unified commitment from all participants to continue their collaboration, working together to turn the strategies discussed into practical actions. The insights from this dialogue are expected to influence future approaches of both public and private entities in the Travel & Tourism landscape worldwide.
The summit attracted a distinguished lineup of attendees, including high-profile government officials and leading figures from the private sector. Prominent names included Sultan Mohammed Al Musallam, Deputy Minister of Tourism for International Affairs, Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia; Ms. Erika Guerri, Chief of Cabinet from the Ministry of Tourism of Italy; Brian Beall, Director of the National Travel and Tourism Office USA; the Hon. Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister of The Bahamas and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation; and Ion Vilcu from UN Tourism.
Western Australia's representation was strong, led by the Deputy Premier and Tourism Minister, Hon. Rita Saffioti MLA, who was joined by other key delegates.
Private sector representatives included notable organizations such as Certares, Arsenale SPA, Cruise Saudi, Indian Hotels Company, JP Morgan Chase, JTB, MegaWorld Hotels and Resorts, MMGY, Radisson Hotel Group, and VFS Global.
WTTC President & CEO Julia Simpson commented, "The collective insight and commitment demonstrated here today show that Travel & Tourism is strongest when governments and businesses work together.
