TORONTO, Canada (January 2026). As winter temperatures plunge below freezing, Antigua and Barbuda is bringing a touch of Caribbean warmth to Toronto, Canada’s largest city, through a high-visibility winter marketing campaign. As part of this strategic initiative, the destination’s tourism branding is featured on a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) streetcar operating primarily along Dundas and Bathurst streets.

These major city corridors carry a combined average of more than 51,000 passengers daily, in addition to thousands of commuters who see the activation during peak travel times. The initiative is part of a broader fall and winter marketing strategy across Canada, with expanded visibility in cities such as Halifax and Montreal, aimed at strengthening destination awareness through impactful out-of-home and multimedia placements.

According to Tameka Wharton, Director of Tourism for Antigua and Barbuda in Canada, the campaign represents a strategic investment designed to keep the destination top of mind year-round. The Toronto activation was further reinforced in December with a large digital billboard along the Gardiner Expressway and massive LED screens at Sankofa Square, one of the country’s most visited urban landmarks, showcasing the islands’ beaches and natural scenery and reminding Canadians that a sunny Caribbean escape is just a direct flight away.
