St. John’s, Antigua, January 19, 2026. The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) has announced a robust lineup of new visitor experiences, international events, hotel openings and cultural initiatives set to shape the destination’s tourism offering throughout 2026, reinforcing its position as one of the Caribbean’s most dynamic destinations.

“Antigua and Barbuda is fully open and welcoming, and for 2026 we are proud to showcase developments that deliver more authentic visitor experiences, alongside tourism investments that enhance the quality of our product,” said Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.

Sailing, sports and international events

Renowned for its nautical heritage, Antigua and Barbuda will strengthen its status as the home of Caribbean yacht racing with the launch of the Antigua Racing Cup, taking place from April 9–12, 2026, marking the start of an exciting month of sailing events.

The destination will also host the AUA Rohrman Trail & Swim Fest from April 11–12, 2026, bringing together international athletes for trail running, open-water swimming and kids’ triathlons, blending sport, nature and adventure tourism.

In May, Run in Paradise will celebrate its 10th anniversary, offering Half Marathon, 10K and 5K races along Antigua’s scenic coastline, finishing at the historic Fort James Beach.

Culinary, cultural and signature festivals

Culinary tourism will take center stage with the return of Antigua and Barbuda Culinary Month in May 2026, featuring “Eat Like A Local” experiences, a Restaurant Week from May 3–17, and the signature FAB – Food, Art & Beverage Festival on May 23. Guest chefs include Nina Compton, Andi Oliver, Claude Lewis, and Kareem Roberts, further elevating the destination’s culinary reputation.

From July 25 to August 4, the vibrant Antigua and Barbuda Carnival will celebrate the islands’ culture, history and resilience, while Antigua and Barbuda Art Week in November 2026 will transform the islands into an open-air gallery showcasing local and regional creativity.

Hotel openings and resort enhancements

Major tourism investments include the opening of Moon Gate, a new boutique luxury property, alongside extensive renovations at Hermitage Bay and Curtain Bluff, introducing upgraded suites, private pools, enhanced dining and expanded wellness offerings.

Cultural heritage, gastronomy and adventure experiences

Visitors can continue exploring Antigua and Barbuda’s maritime heritage through experiences such as Seafood Fridays at Nelson’s Dockyard, Rum in the Ruins, and the newly launched Shirley Heights Friday Night Party, extending nightlife offerings at one of the Caribbean’s most iconic viewpoints.

The culinary scene expands with the opening of Fat Urchin in Jolly Harbour Marina, while adventure tourism grows with Rock Adventures, offering transparent boat tours and crystal kayak experiences for sustainable marine exploration.

With a diverse mix of events, culture, gastronomy, luxury and adventure, Antigua and Barbuda positions itself as a must-visit Caribbean destination for 2026, inviting travelers to discover far more than its world-famous beaches.
