Disney Experiences revealed the most ambitious expansion plan in Walt Disney World Resort's history during the "Horizons: A Carousel of Progress" showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa. Company executives and guest celebrities took the stage to unveil new lands, attractions and renovations set to transform all four theme parks at the Florida resort in the coming years.

The announcement with the greatest significance for Latin American audiences is Tropical Americas, a new land at Disney's Animal Kingdom inspired by the myths, magic and cultures of Mexico, Central America and South America. Centered around the fictional community of Pueblo Esperanza, the land will feature three major attractions. The first, El Carrusel de los Animalitos, is a family-friendly, no-height-restriction ride featuring 22 hand-carved animals inspired by Disney and Pixar stories. The second, Antonio's Fiesta de Encanto, brings the world of "Encanto" to life alongside Casita and the Madrigal family, with more than 50 animal figures and the return of original voice cast members Stephanie Beatriz, Jessica Darrow and Diane Guerrero. The third, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, takes guests into a Mayan cenote in search of the mythical serpent creature Tsukán, featuring Audio-Animatronics modeled after Harrison Ford himself for the first time in Disney history.

In the same park, the iconic Yeti figure at Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain will return to life following restoration.

Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios also getting major updates

At Magic Kingdom, the classic Carousel of Progress attraction will gain four new decades and a new scene beginning in late spring 2027, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Bryan Cranston voicing the show's central couple, Sarah and John. Frontierland will welcome Piston Peak, a new area inspired by Pixar's "Cars" franchise featuring two rides: Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along, starring the demolition-derby truck Miss Fritter, and Cars Ridge Run Rally, an off-road race connecting into the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad geyser field. New details also emerged about Villains Land, the long-anticipated dark land that will include a Maleficent-inspired roller coaster and a dark ride hosted by the Magic Mirror, featuring Cruella, the Evil Queen and Dr. Facilier.

At EPCOT, the iconic Spaceship Earth attraction will undergo its first renovation in nearly 20 years, shifting its narrative focus toward human connection, while the Imagination pavilion will welcome a new adventure starring Figment and Dreamfinder.

At Disney's Hollywood Studios, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will connect with the video game Fortnite through a collaboration with Epic Games, available starting August 16, 2026, allowing guests to link their Disney and Epic Games accounts. Construction also continues on Monstropolis, the new "Monsters, Inc."-inspired land opening in 2027 with the stage show "Welcome to Monstropolis," the themed restaurants Archie's Scare Pig Pizza and Harryhausen's, and the Scareporium gift shop.

With more than 55 years of storytelling at Walt Disney World, the company said it continues to blend new experiences with reimagined classics such as Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, ushering in what it called a new era for "the most magical place on Earth."
