U.S. Election: Harris and Trump Make Final Push in Pennsylvania
With only hours left before one of the most pivotal elections in U.S. history reaches its conclusion, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are making a last-ditch effort to sway voters. The race remains one of the closest in recent history, according to polls, with Pennsylvania emerging as a crucial battleground that could define the final outcome.
Vice President Kamala Harris wrapped up one of her final campaign events with a rally in Allentown, Pennsylvania, a state with a significant 19 electoral votes, the most of any swing state. Speaking to an energized crowd, Harris urged Pennsylvanians to take part in what she described as "one of the most important elections of our lives." She was met with cheers and chants of "No turning back" and "USA" as she delivered her message.
“Allentown, this is it. Only one more day left in this historic election, and the momentum is on our side,” Harris declared to a crowd that often interrupted with applause. She emphasized her vision of unity and optimism, pledging to be a leader for all Americans, one who finds common ground and advances a hopeful future.
"America is ready for a new beginning," she stated. "And it's ready for a new path forward where we see each other not as adversaries, but as neighbors." Harris echoed themes she has championed throughout her campaign, including unity, inclusivity, and a promise to address the nation’s pressing issues with a fresh perspective.
Meanwhile, a recent poll conducted by Selzer & Co. for the Des Moines Register shows Harris with a slight lead over Trump among likely Iowa voters, at 47% to Trump’s 44%, with a margin of error of 3.4%. The poll surveyed 808 Iowa residents, reflecting a neck-and-neck race in key states across the country.
Both Harris and Trump are holding multiple events in a final effort to rally voters. Trump has focused on issues like trade, announcing in North Carolina that he intends to impose a 25% tariff on all Mexican imports if Mexico does not halt the flow of migrants across the southern U.S. border.
Harris, in contrast, has concentrated her campaign on the swing state of Pennsylvania, with both candidates expected to hold competitive rallies in Pittsburgh later today.
With over 78 million Americans having already cast their ballots, early turnout has surged to record-breaking numbers, underscoring the high stakes and strong voter interest in this election. As the nation waits, both Harris and Trump continue their high-energy campaigns, each vying to win the confidence of Americans in these final moments.
