Jamaica - At the Caribbean Travel Marketplace 42, held in Jamaica, Kenneth Bryan, Minister of Tourism and Ports of the Cayman Islands, held a press conference where he shared the latest news about tourism in the Cayman Islands. Bryan highlighted that between January and December of last year, the Cayman Islands received 1,700,265 visitors, the third-highest number in the country's recorded history.
During his address, Bryan emphasized that the United States remains the primary tourist market for the Cayman Islands, which has significantly contributed to these record figures. He also provided a detailed update on the island's hotel offerings, airlift capacity, and stayover visits. Additionally, he announced a new summer promotion designed to attract travelers under the slogan "Experience MORE in the Cayman Islands."
Bryan was accompanied by Rosa Harris, Director of Tourism, and Gary Dominguez, Deputy Director of International Marketing, who responded to questions from international and regional media following the presentation. "I am very pleased with the level of interest the media has shown in the Cayman Islands. The Director and I have given numerous interviews, and we look forward to some great destination coverage in the coming months," stated the Minister.
Bryan's schedule at the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) event was intense. In addition to participating in a panel discussion on the theme "Visioning a New Tourism Landscape," the Minister gave several interviews to regional media, in which he provided updates on the Cayman Islands tourism industry and shared his thoughts and insights on the growth and development of the tourism industry from a regional perspective.
In his capacity as Chairman of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), Bryan also announced a significant event to be held in New York during the second week of June. "We plan to gather all the major U.S. markets to promote the Caribbean and also the Caribbean diaspora that is in the United States," Bryan indicated.
With these initiatives and updates, the Cayman Islands aim to consolidate themselves as a premier tourist destination and continue attracting visitors from around the world, especially from the U.S. market.
