“We’re very pleased to bring La Cita to Kissimmee. It is a unique destination with a great story. Besides the proximity to the major Central Florida attractions, Kissimmee’s suppliers understand the needs of Latin American travelers and the OMNI ChampionsGate is a magnificent venue,” said Rick Still, Managing Director of La Cita.

La Cita, a Florida based travel industry event, is dedicated to promoting inbound U.S. travel from Latin America and the Caribbean. Last year, the 3-day conference hosted over 450 travel professionals (suppliers, tour operators, travel agents, media, air carriers, researchers, reps, etc.) and more than 3100 appointments were scheduled. This year La Cita will take place in Kis-simmee, FL from
September 4 – 6, 2019

Located in the heart of Central Florida, Kissimmee is just a wave-of-a-wand away from Orlando International Airport and less than an hour from Florida’s east and west coasts. This easy-to-access destination is on the doorstep of world-famous theme parks and attractions. Plus, with in-credible shopping, world-class dining, championship golf courses, one-of-a-kind entertainment, and thrilling outdoor adventures – including kayaking, high-flying ziplines, and airboat rides – Kissimmee offers memorable vacation experiences for guests of all ages.

“Experience Kissimmee is honored to welcome La Cita 2019 to our sunny destination,” said D.T. Minich, President/CEO of Experience Kissimmee. He continued, “We appreciate the oppor-tunity to share the Kissimmee story with travel professionals from throughout Latin America and look forward to providing a collaborative and memorable conference experience. Plus, with all the incredible things to do in our destination, we hope delegates stay an extra day or two to ex-perience all Kissimmee has to offer!”

Projections for Latin America Remains Strong
According to Still the outlook for Latin America continues to be strong. “With continued recov-eries in Brazil and Argentina and sustained growth in Colombia, other markets, by and large, are performing well.” The U.S. is the second largest Spanish-speaking country and leisure travel is fueled by strong VFR visitation (visiting friends and relatives) and strong business ties through-out the region.

“Latin American decision makers place strong emphasis on trusted relationships, and La Cita is the event of choice where these buyers meet key suppliers. Buyers represent all types of travel: Group, Leisure, Meetings Incentives Conferences and Exhibition, Corporate and Online Travel Agencies. Delegates find that La Cita’s emphasis on the value of relationships is how the mar-ketplace works,” Still explains.

The Importance of Latin American Travelers to the U.S.:
Latin America is composed of 16 countries, and the combined population of the region exceeds 575 million. Although countries share cultural and religious similarities, each nation has its own unique characteristics, preferences and behavior. According to the U.S. Department of Com-merce National Travel and Tourism Office, it is estimated that one hundred million people across Latin America control an estimated 60 percent of the overall buying power. In 2017, outbound travel grew and accounted for nearly 32 percent of all arrivals to the U.S.
