The U.S. Travel Association has honored two of the travel industry's most distinguished figures, Christopher L. Thompson and William D. "Bill" Talbert, III, by inducting them into the prestigious Hall of Leaders. This accolade, the highest honor in the U.S. travel industry, celebrates their enduring contributions to elevating travel both nationally and globally.

Thompson, former president and CEO of Brand USA, and Talbert, former president and CEO of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, were officially inducted during a special dinner attended by over 100 industry leaders. The event was part of U.S. Travel’s Fall Engagement Week, held in Washington, D.C.

The Hall of Leaders recognizes individuals whose significant achievements have positively impacted the travel industry and set new benchmarks for excellence. To date, only 108 individuals have been honored with this distinction.

According to U.S. Travel Association President Geoff Freeman, both Thompson and Talbert have demonstrated exemplary leadership that has strengthened the industry’s growth and innovation. Their dedication has not only advanced the reputation of U.S. travel but also supported its evolution as a key driver of the global economy.

Photos of the honorees alongside Freeman were shared to commemorate the event, highlighting their contributions and legacy within the travel community.
