  1. More than 197 million travel & tourism jobs could be lost, WTTC says

    Back in March, the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) said the COVID-19 pandemic could cost 50 million jobs globally. Just shy of three months later and the WTTC has upped its estimate: More than 197 million jobs could be lost in the global travel and tourism sector if barriers to global travel, such as blanket anti-travel advisories and quarantine measures remain in place.

  2. WTTC research reveals number of jobs at risk from COVID-19 pandemic is up to 75 million

    Gloria Guevara, WTTC president and CEO, said: “The number of jobs now at risk in the global Travel & Tourism sector is a staggering 75m, bringing real and profound worry to millions of families around the world.  
    The figure, based on research from WTTC, shows a Travel & Tourism GDP loss to the world economy of up to US$2.1 trillion in 2020.
