Antigua and Barbuda will once again become a regional epicenter of gastronomy this May 2026 with the return of the highly anticipated Antigua and Barbuda Culinary Month, an initiative led by the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) that continues to grow since its launch in 2023.
The month-long celebration showcases the rich culinary heritage of Antigua and Barbuda, blending local talent with guest chefs of Caribbean heritage from the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. Visitors will be able to experience island flavors through the popular Eat Like A Local program, enjoy special prix-fixe menus during Restaurant Week, and attend the signature FAB (Food, Art & Beverage) Fest.
The 2026 edition follows Antigua and Barbuda’s recent recognition as the Caribbean’s Best Emerging Culinary City Destination 2025 by the World Culinary Awards, reinforcing the destination’s rising profile in the global culinary tourism scene.
“This event allows us to celebrate our culture, our chefs, and our unique cuisine while welcoming Caribbean talent from across the diaspora,” said The Honourable Charles Fernandez, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment. “Each year, we raise the bar for visitors seeking authentic and elevated Caribbean food experiences.”
Among the headline guest chefs are Andi Oliver, Kareem Roberts, Claude Lewis, Nina Compton, Tristen Epps and Paul Carmichael, joined by a diverse roster of Caribbean culinary and beverage professionals. The program includes Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Week from May 3 to 17, the Caribbean Food Forum on May 21, the vibrant FAB Fest on May 23, and a series of exclusive collaboration dinners and beachside events throughout the month.
Also returning is the “Eat Like A Local” experience, inviting travelers to explore traditional island cookshops and sample iconic dishes such as fungee and pepperpot, goat water, ducana and saltfish, offering an authentic taste of Antiguan and Barbudan culture.
With its mix of gastronomy, culture and community, Antigua and Barbuda Culinary Month 2026 promises to be one of the Caribbean’s most compelling food tourism events of the year.
