At EICMA 2026, Piaggio introduced the new Typhoon 125, bringing back the name of one of its best-known scooters from the 1990s. The new model combines references to that era with updated equipment and features for modern urban mobility.

The latest version includes a TFT dashboard and 14-inch wheels, alongside refreshed styling that retains the sporty character of the original Typhoon. Its compact configuration is designed for everyday city use, while its name and design will be familiar to riders who remember the earlier generations.

ABC Mundial visited Piaggio’s stand in Milan and spoke with Matteo Ballini, Head of Scooter Product Marketing at the Piaggio Group, about the company’s latest launches and the evolution of its range.

The Typhoon is part of a broader update to the group’s scooter portfolio, which also includes developments for the Beverly and Medley, as well as the celebration of the Piaggio MP3’s twentieth anniversary. The three-wheeled scooter has played a distinctive role in the evolution of urban mobility.
