Norwegian Cruise Line unveils new wellness and dining experiences coming to Norwegian Aura
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) unveiled new wellness and dining offerings coming to Norwegian Aura™, the company's largest ship to date and the newest addition to its award-winning Prima Plus class, ahead of its 2027 debut. The ship is designed to give every guest more freedom to customize their vacation, the company said, with expanded options across dining and spa experiences.
The announcement includes the industry's most expansive thermal suite, featuring 15 wellness experiences aimed at relaxation and recovery; Tamara, NCL's first specialty restaurant dedicated to Indian cuisine; and The Panorama Room, an immersive dining concept built around visual technology. Several guest-favorite restaurants, bars and lounges have also been redesigned and relocated to create more space and smoother flow between venues.
"Norwegian Aura is about giving guests even more of the experiences they love most, with spaces and offerings that make vacationing easier and more enjoyable," said Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. He added that new additions like Tamara and The Panorama Room, along with the ship's largest thermal suite to date, were designed to give guests more freedom, choice and opportunities to relax and recharge on their own terms.
A new era of wellness at sea
The redesigned Mandara Spa®, spanning two decks with design by Rockwell Group, draws on natural elements to create a wellness sanctuary inspired by tree canopies, cavern-like retreats and waterfalls.
At its center is the industry's most expansive thermal suite, offering 15 wellness amenities, including 11 entirely new experiences built around the principles of contrast therapy. Guests will be able to move between warm and cold spaces, water-based experiences and relaxation areas to build their own wellness routine.
Highlights include the Sensory Rain Pool, billed as the first of its kind at sea — a 360-degree immersive experience that shifts from calm waters to tropical rain and simulated thunderstorms with lightning effects and surround sound. Additional amenities include the Blue Glow Suite, designed to support relaxation and recovery; a dedicated foot spa; a Waterfall Experience; a Snow Cave offering cold therapy benefits; a Reflection Pool with ocean views; and guided hot-and-cold plunge experiences.
The spa will also include a salt room, meditation room, aromatic steam room, Finnish sauna, charcoal sauna and a zen room, along with 24 treatment rooms, a full-service salon, a Skin Lab and expanded medi-spa services including IV therapy, NAD+ injections and acupuncture treatments. A modern gym with specialized training studios rounds out the wellness offerings.
New dining concepts and reimagined favorites
Norwegian Aura's dining program will include 22 restaurant and bar experiences spanning more than ten culinary styles, each designed to let guests dine exactly as they prefer.
Debuting exclusively aboard Norwegian Aura, Tamara will become NCL's first specialty restaurant dedicated to Indian cuisine. Inspired by the popularity of Indian dishes introduced at Indulge Food Hall aboard the Prima-class ships, the new restaurant elevates those flavors into a standalone dining experience, located on Deck 8. The space features warm earth tones, handcrafted details and an open kitchen anchored by tandoor ovens, with dishes including short-rib dosa, lamb biryani and a tableside-prepared green papaya salad.
Also new to Norwegian Aura, The Panorama Room reimagines the traditional main dining concept through immersive visual technology. Located on Deck 6, the venue features large-scale LED screens, multichannel audio and synchronized lighting that shift throughout the day, transporting guests to different landscapes and settings as they dine. Hudson's, the ship's signature main dining venue known for its 270-degree ocean views, will also debut a fully redesigned space.
Beyond new concepts, the ship's dining collection has been reorganized to improve flow and increase capacity at several guest favorites. On Deck 7, Le Bistro will feature uninterrupted ocean views alongside its French cuisine, while Sukhothai debuts a redesign honoring Thai culture and craftsmanship. On Deck 8, Mediterranean restaurant Palomar and Italian eatery Onda by Scarpetta will both gain additional seating and updated design. Cagney's Steakhouse will also receive a sophisticated renovation with darker, more elegant tones, while Japanese specialty restaurants Hasuki and Nama return with refreshed decor and a lighter color palette.
Additional updates include an expanded Surfside Café spanning both sides of the ship, and the return of Indulge Food Hall with nine culinary stations, now featuring Los Lobos-inspired Mexican fare, a new Middle Eastern concept, and returning favorites Q Texas Smokehouse, Planterie and Nudls. The Local Bar & Grill will also return with pub classics available throughout the day.
Guests staying in The Haven, the ship's key-card-access luxury enclave, will find a redesigned Haven Bar & Lounge and Haven Restaurant. Designed by longtime NCL partner Studio DADO, the private spaces and exclusive outdoor terrace are meant to evoke a tranquil retreat with earth tones and lush greenery.
More space to relax, gather and explore
Public spaces throughout Norwegian Aura have been redesigned to feel more open and connected. The Penrose Bar & Atrium will more than double in capacity and add a dedicated stage for daily entertainment. Guests will also find the Metropolitan Bar, known for its sustainable cocktail program; the Swirl Wine Bar; and the Belvedere Bar and Whiskey Bar, all redesigned with more open layouts. Overlooking the pool deck on Deck 18, the Daybreak Bar will feature a colorful, high-energy design.
Family adventure and entertainment
Norwegian Aura will also feature Ocean Heights™, the ship's family entertainment zone, combining new NCL-exclusive attractions with reimagined favorites that transform from day to night through immersive lighting and LED projections. Thrill-seekers can choose from six slides, the 82-foot Aura Ropes Course, a multi-level obstacle course, the Moon Climber, and Aura Midway, which features carnival-style games and a nine-hole mini golf course. Guests looking to relax can book NCL's first suspended cabanas overlooking Vibe Beach Club, along with a dedicated bar.
Norwegian Aura will begin service with a seven-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste, Italy, to Barcelona, Spain, on May 21, 2027, followed by a 13-day transatlantic crossing to Miami. Throughout 2027 and into 2028, the ship will offer seven-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries with stops in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, NCL's private island in the Bahamas. During the 2027/2028 winter season, the ship will sail seven-day Western Caribbean itineraries to destinations including Roatán, Honduras; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Harvest Caye, Belize.
