IPW 2026: Las Vegas Reinforces Its Position as the Global Capital of Events, Sports, and Entertainment
Las Vegas once again demonstrated at IPW 2026 why it remains one of the world’s most influential tourism destinations. During the press conference organized by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), destination executives presented the city’s strategic evolution, which today combines world-class entertainment, outstanding gastronomy, major sporting events, and one of the leading meetings and convention infrastructures in the United States.
At IPW 2026, the Las Vegas delegation made it clear that the destination is no longer defined solely by its iconic casinos and shows. The city has built a comprehensive tourism ecosystem where top-tier productions, immersive experiences, internationally acclaimed chefs, and a global sports agenda coexist, completely transforming the destination’s profile.
Kate Wik, Chief Marketing Officer of the LVCVA, emphasized during the presentation that Las Vegas is committed to a model centered on memorable and emotional experiences.
“In Las Vegas, entertainment is not just something you passively watch — it’s something that moves you and inspires you. We strongly believe there’s no time like the present. It’s more than a slogan; it’s a mindset,” the executive told international media.
The destination’s current campaign, “Pack for Vegas,” seeks to convey that spirit of spontaneity, celebration, and unforgettable experiences, inviting visitors to step away from routine and embrace unique moments.
Global Leadership in the MICE Industry
One of the key topics of the presentation was Las Vegas’ sustained leadership in the MICE segment (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). The city has maintained the number one position as the top trade show and convention destination in the United States for 26 consecutive years, supported by the constant modernization of the Las Vegas Convention Center and a hospitality and logistics infrastructure that is difficult to match.
IPW itself represents one of the strongest examples of this international positioning. The event gathers thousands of buyers, exhibitors, and journalists from more than 70 countries, generating billions of dollars in future travel to the United States.
The continuous renovation of the convention center and new international connectivity strategies continue to strengthen Las Vegas’ competitiveness in the corporate meetings and events sector.
Las Vegas’ New Sports DNA
Another major pillar of the city’s transformation is its emergence as a global sports capital. In just a few years, Las Vegas evolved from having no major league franchises to becoming a permanent host city for some of the world’s most important sporting events.
The construction of Allegiant Stadium and T-Mobile Arena marked the beginning of a new era for the destination, which now hosts events such as the Super Bowl, Formula 1 races along the iconic Strip, and upcoming NCAA championships.
The city also recently confirmed that it will host the Super Bowl again in 2029, further reinforcing its position in international sports tourism.
Monumental Celebrations and Experiential Tourism
Las Vegas’ vision for the coming years also includes major celebrations connected to the 250th anniversary of the United States, featuring special events, patriotic lighting displays, and large-scale activations across the Strip and iconic landmarks such as the Hoover Dam.
At the same time, the destination continues expanding its culinary and cultural offerings. This year, Las Vegas will host the inaugural Michelin Guide Southwest ceremony, reinforcing its growing international culinary prestige.
With a unique combination of entertainment, infrastructure, sports, gastronomy, and immersive experiences, Las Vegas reaffirmed at IPW 2026 its intention to continue leading the global tourism industry while remaining a city in constant reinvention.
