Air France will take a major step in strengthening connectivity between Europe and the French Caribbean by introducing the Airbus A350-900 on its route between Paris and Saint Martin starting March 28, 2027.

The French carrier plans to operate 10 weekly flights, replacing the current Airbus A330-200. The move represents both a significant increase in capacity and an upgrade in the travel experience for visitors heading to the Caribbean island.

The new schedule will provide more seats, especially in premium cabins, and greater flight frequency from Europe to Saint Martin, one of the Caribbean’s most popular destinations among French and European travelers. The 10 weekly services will also improve connections through Paris for passengers traveling from Spain, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Air France’s Airbus A350-900 is configured with 292 seats: 48 in Business, 32 in Premium Economy and 212 in Economy, offering more premium capacity than the current A330-200. The aircraft also features quieter cabins, larger windows, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity and improved fuel efficiency.

For Saint Martin, the additional flights and the arrival of a next-generation aircraft are strategically important. The destination continues to rebuild and expand its tourism industry following airport modernization projects and new hotel development. Stronger air connectivity with Europe generally translates into higher visitor numbers, longer stays and greater spending on hotels, restaurants, tours and local businesses.

The expanded service is also expected to reinforce Saint Martin’s role as a gateway to the French Caribbean. Many travelers use the island as a connection point to Saint Barthélemy, Guadeloupe and neighboring islands, meaning that increased flights from Paris could benefit the wider region.

Air France’s decision to assign the Airbus A350-900 to Saint Martin is widely seen as a sign of confidence in the destination’s long-term growth. The airline typically deploys this aircraft on routes it considers strategically important and with strong international demand.
