Saint Martin Strengthens Its Presence in the European Market at ITB Berlin 2026
The Saint Martin Tourism Office participated in ITB Berlin 2026, one of the world’s leading travel trade shows, with the goal of strengthening the destination’s presence in the European market and expanding partnerships within the international tourism industry.
During the event, the destination shared the AGK Karibik stand alongside the St. Maarten Tourism Bureau, highlighting the cooperation between the two tourism entities in promoting the island internationally. The joint presence allowed the destination to showcase its unique Caribbean identity and increase visibility among tour operators, travel agents, and tourism professionals.
Throughout the trade fair, the Saint Martin delegation held numerous meetings with tour operators, travel agencies, strategic partners, and key stakeholders from the global tourism sector. These discussions provided an opportunity to present the destination’s key strengths, explore new partnership opportunities, and further position Saint Martin as an attractive destination for European travelers.
The delegation also emphasized collaboration with partners present at the stand, including Buildinvest and Global Communication Expert, reinforcing promotional efforts aimed at expanding the island’s reach within the competitive international tourism market.
A Caribbean Destination with a Unique Identity
Located in the northeastern Caribbean, Saint Martin stands out for its singular character: it is the smallest island in the world shared by two nations, the French territory of Saint Martin and the Dutch side, Sint Maarten. This cultural duality is reflected in its gastronomy, architecture, and tourism offerings, blending European sophistication with Caribbean charm.
According to information from Discover Saint Martin, the destination boasts more than 35 white-sand beaches with crystal-clear waters, a vibrant culinary scene widely regarded as one of the best in the Caribbean, and a diverse range of activities including sailing, diving, water sports, shopping, and cultural experiences.
The island also serves as a strategic hub for Caribbean cruising and island-hopping, allowing visitors to easily explore neighboring destinations. In addition, a year-round calendar of cultural festivals, culinary events, and sporting activities enhances its appeal for international travelers.
Expanding Global Tourism Opportunities
Saint Martin’s participation in ITB Berlin 2026 reinforced its strategy to strengthen its position in the European market and connect with key players in the global tourism industry. The meetings and exchanges held during the event opened new opportunities for collaboration with tour operators and tourism partners interested in expanding travel offerings to the island.
With its combination of natural beauty, cultural diversity, and renowned hospitality, Saint Martin continues to position itself as a competitive and dynamic Caribbean destination in the global tourism marketplace.
