Visiting the home of America’s most famous mouse is about to get more expensive. The Walt Disney Company has announced a new price increase for its theme park tickets in the United States, now in effect at Disneyland Resort (California) and to be rolled out progressively at Walt Disney World Resort (Florida) over the next year.

According to the company, the adjustment responds to “growing demand during peak holiday seasons and rising operational costs,” especially on high-attendance dates such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.

“Our commitment to creating magical experiences for everyone remains at the heart of what we do, and that will never change,” a Disney spokesperson told U.S. media.

Disneyland: Higher prices during peak season

The biggest increases will take place at Disneyland California during the busiest times of the year.

  • One-day ticket on peak dates: from $199 to $224.
  • Base ticket during low season: remains at $104, unchanged.

The six-tier pricing structure, based on demand levels, will remain in place, with moderate increases ranging from $3 to $7 on most dates.

During the Thanksgiving week (November 24–29) and the holiday period (December 20 to January 3), record-breaking attendance is driving these adjustments. “Our goal is to provide top-quality service at all times, especially during peak seasons,” the company told CBS News.

Walt Disney World: Price hikes scheduled for 2026

In Orlando, the price increases won’t be immediate. Walt Disney World Resort will apply dynamic pricing adjustments starting in October 2026. Tickets will cost more on weekends and peak holidays, while base prices will remain steady during low season.

The company anticipates that ticket prices for key 2026 dates will exceed the current $199 maximum, marking the first significant increase in more than two years.

Additional services will also get more expensive

In addition to tickets, several other services at the parks will see price increases:

  • Annual Passes:
    • Inspire Key: from $1,749 to $1,899
    • Believe Key: from $1,374 to $1,474 (effective October 2025)
  • Lightning Lane Multi Pass (priority access to attractions): from $32 to $34, with variable pricing up to $40 on peak days.
  • Parking and hotel stays: will also increase, according to the company.

More visitors, higher costs

Disney’s dynamic pricing model allows the company to manage crowd levels during peak seasons and maximize revenue during periods of high attendance. The price hikes come amid record visitor numbers and a sustained recovery of international tourism to the United States.

These adjustments add to recent changes in reservation policies, annual passes, and fast-access services, as part of Disney’s strategy to maintain a “magical” experience even on the busiest days.
