The New Sahara Las Vegas: Renewed Luxury, Latin Spirit, and Unique Experiences for the Modern Traveler
Las Vegas, USA — The iconic Sahara Las Vegas has been reborn with a fresh, sophisticated vibe and a strong connection to the Latin audience. Under its current ownership and an investment of more than $400 million, the hotel has been completely renovated, positioning itself as one of the most attractive properties on the Strip.
“We like to say the new Sahara Las Vegas because it truly is a whole new concept. Everything has been redesigned — the three towers, the rooms, the furniture, the décor. It’s a four-star property with the comfort and style of a luxury hotel,” said Alex Philby, Director of Sales at Sahara Las Vegas, in an interview with ABC MUNDIAL.
One of the guests’ favorite features: free parking, an increasingly rare benefit in Las Vegas, where many hotels charge up to $35 a day.
International Cuisine with a Signature Flavor
The new Sahara is placing a strong bet on the culinary experience. By the end of this year, Maroon, an Afro-Caribbean steakhouse led by celebrity chef Kwame Onwuachi, will open its doors. Onwuachi is known for his innovative approach to gastronomy and his successful restaurants on the U.S. East Coast.
“The concept is unique. Maroon will bring an Afro-Caribbean proposal to the heart of Las Vegas — it will be his first restaurant on the West Coast,” explains Philby.
Other dining options include Balla, by chef Shawn McClain, offering Italian small plates and gourmet grilling; Noodle Den, featuring authentic hand-pulled noodles prepared before guests’ eyes; Chickie’s & Pete’s, a sports bar serving seafood favorites like crab burgers and lobster fries; and a lively Mexican taqueria, among others.
“Basically, nobody goes hungry at Sahara. We have 24-hour service with an incredible variety,” Philby laughs.
Entertainment, Relaxation, and Latin Spirit
The hotel has also become a hub for entertainment and wellness. The Amina Spa offers first-class treatments, while the Ásilo Ultra Lounge has become a social hotspot, featuring live music and Latin Nights every Friday.
The Magic Mike Live show, created by actor Channing Tatum, is another hit attraction for guests seeking a unique experience in the Entertainment Capital of the World.
With more than 1,600 rooms across three towers and a 60,000-square-foot casino, Sahara maintains a warm, easy-to-navigate atmosphere. “We’re a Las Vegas hotel with a boutique spirit. Everything is close and accessible. Guests can arrive, check in, and be in their rooms within ten minutes,” Philby highlights.
Guests are also welcomed with complimentary bottled water, and most of the staff speaks Spanish. “You’ll hear Spanish everywhere here. If a guest doesn’t speak English, there’s always someone ready to help. It’s something we’re proud of — we truly support one another,” she adds.
Prime Location and Easy Strip Access
Located on the north end of the Strip, right next to the iconic Stratosphere Tower, the Sahara offers a Las Vegas Monorail station on-site, allowing guests to explore the entire hotel area quickly and affordably. “For just five dollars, you can travel from one end of the Strip to the other in only fifteen minutes,” notes Philby.
The hotel also offers highly competitive rates: starting at $59 per night from Sunday to Thursday, and around $139 on weekends, depending on the season.
Focus on the Latin American Market
Sahara Las Vegas continues to strengthen its connection with Spanish-speaking travelers, especially from Spain and South America. “Our owner is Cuban-American and greatly values the Latin market. During Mexico’s Independence celebrations, we hosted an exclusive concert by Alex Fernández, grandson of Vicente Fernández. In November, we’ll welcome Angélica Vale for a special event for the Latin community,” says Philby.
Regarding the Colombian market, Philby acknowledges that it has seen ups and downs in recent years but remains optimistic that the 2026 World Cup, to be held in the United States, will reignite travel interest. “With Colombia qualifying and several Latin American teams participating, we expect to see many Colombians enjoying Las Vegas again,” she adds.
Sahara Las Vegas: A Classic Reinvented
With 75 years of history and a complete transformation, Sahara blends the charm of old-school Las Vegas with the energy of a new generation of travelers. Accessible luxury, personalized service, Latin flavor, and a prime location make it an ideal choice for those looking to experience Las Vegas with style, comfort, and warmth.
