Exciting news! Grenada warmly welcomes Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas tomorrow, Tuesday, July 9th, bringing much-needed relief supplies, including 15 tons of fuel, to aid in our recovery after Hurricane Beryl. The arrival of 2,377 passengers will also help boost economic growth.
Chairman Randall Dolland says, “Their assistance in our time of need, combined with the visitor arrivals, underscores the depth of the partnership we share. This is a clear signal to the world that Grenada is open for business and welcoming visitors with open arms.”
The Grenada Tourism Authority invites everyone to celebrate the arrival of Rhapsody of the Seas and its passengers as we continue our recovery efforts. Chairman Randall Dolland expressed his gratitude, saying, "I'm Ronald Dolland, Chairman of the Grenada Tourism Authority, and I am thrilled to announce that on Tuesday, July 9th, the Royal Caribbean ship Rhapsody of the Seas will be making a call to Grenada. The economic impact of having more visitors spending money on the ground in Grenada is highly beneficial to us, as money goes directly to stakeholders, providing a direct cash injection into the economy. Tourism has always been a main pillar of the Grenadian economy, and we are very happy that this partnership with Royal Caribbean continues to flourish.
Welcoming 2,377 visitors will have a significant impact on our economy. We want to ensure that they are out there, spending money, and experiencing the island. Even with the destruction that occurred, we were welcoming visitors who were spending money, which was crucial at the time. The fact is, our financial centers and the tourism belt are still open and running. So, when you see the ship, welcome it with open arms, and we thank them for their aid and contribution to the development, redevelopment, and rebuilding of Grenada. After this, we will rise, building back better and stronger."
This visit by Rhapsody of the Seas symbolizes hope and resilience for Grenada, highlighting the island’s unwavering spirit and determination to rebuild. As Grenada continues its recovery journey, the support from Royal Caribbean and the influx of visitors play a vital role in revitalizing the local economy and reinforcing the island's status as a premier tourist destination.
