The industrial production index, which gauges changes in the actual volume of items produced rather than their value, rose 7.84 percent in November from a year earlier to 122.99, the second-highest level ever, according to MOEA data.

Taiwan's industrial production rose year-on-year for the 10th consecutive month in November, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) announced Wednesday.

The industrial production index, which gauges changes in the actual volume of items produced rather than their value, rose 7.84 percent in November from a year earlier to 122.99, the second-highest level ever, according to MOEA data.

The sub-index for the manufacturing sector, which accounts for more than 90 percent of the country's total industrial production, gained 8.19 percent from a year earlier to 124.97, the highest level ever, the data showed.

On a month-on-month basis, the MOEA said, industrial production in November rose 1.4 percent from a month earlier.

In the first 11 months of the year, Taiwan's industrial production index was up 6.54 percent from the same period last year, while the manufacturing index was up 6.97 percent from a year earlier, the data showed.
