The U.S. travel industry is sounding the alarm over a new $250 visa fee for visitors from non–Visa Waiver countries, warning that the measure could significantly hurt inbound tourism.
The United States is projected to see a significant rise in international visitors in 2025, with an estimated 77.1 million travelers expected to arrive, according to the National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO).
According to the NTTO data, inbound travel is expected to fully recover to pre-pandemic levels in 2025 and reach 91 million international visitations by 2027, which is in line with the government’s recently-announced National Travel and Tourism Strategy.
"We do hope that this forecast will turn out to be “too conservative”, U.S. Travel said.
