Pure Grenada was named Brand of the Year, while Call of the Jab received the Black Film of the Year award. The honors highlight Grenada’s cultural identity and its growing international visibility through tourism and storytelling.

The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) is celebrating two major recognitions at the 2026 Black Travel Summit Victor Awards. The destination brand Pure Grenada won Brand of the Year, while Call of the Jab was named Black Film of the Year.

The awards recognize Grenada’s cultural heritage and the role of local stories in promoting the destination internationally. The GTA highlighted traditions such as Spicemas, as well as the people, artisans and communities whose contributions shape the visitor experience across the islands.

Samantha Thomas, GTA Marketing Executive, was also nominated for Corporate Professional of the Year. Representing Pure Grenada at the summit, she accepted the Brand of the Year award and took part in 12 pre-scheduled meetings with travel professionals, media representatives and content creators at the Wavelength Marketplace.

“This recognition celebrates Grenada’s rich culture, from the traditions of Spicemas to the people and stories that make our islands unique,” said Tornia Charles, Chief Marketing Officer of the Grenada Tourism Authority.

Martinique Lewis, Chief Partnerships Officer for Black Travel Summit, also praised Grenada’s international reach within the travel industry.

The awards support the GTA’s efforts to position Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique as year-round destinations, while strengthening international partnerships and showcasing the cultural experiences and local voices that distinguish the islands.
