The White House reported that Biden and Xi concluded their first round of talks after more than two hours, followed by an extended bilateral meeting that included a dozen government officials from each country.
Biden and Xi are set to discuss Taiwan, the South China Sea, the Israel-Hamas war, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, North Korea, and human rights, each of them areas where the leaders have been unable to resolve long disagreements.
That’s in addition to about 242,700 Venezuelans who already qualified for temporary status before Wednesday’s announcement.
