Coral Princess was the first vessel welcomed at the Melville Street Cruise Terminal. The season will run through May 2027, including calls to Carriacou, with peak activity expected between December and February.
Grenada has officially opened its 2026–2027 cruise season with the arrival of Coral Princess at the Melville Street Cruise Terminal. The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) welcomed the vessel, marking the start of a season featuring 192 scheduled cruise calls through May 2027, including visits to the island of Carriacou.
The new season is expected to create significant opportunities for the local economy, benefiting businesses and professionals connected to cruise tourism. Local retailers, tour operators, transportation providers, guides, vendors and artisans are among those expected to benefit from the arrival of cruise passengers.
Honourable Adrian Thomas, Minister for Tourism, the Creative Economy and Culture, emphasized the importance of ensuring that cruise tourism supports sustainable livelihoods for Grenadians. He highlighted the role of local guides, artisans and communities in creating the authentic experiences visitors seek when exploring the destination.
GTA Chairman Randall Dolland stressed that every cruise call is an opportunity to encourage visitors to return to Grenada for a longer holiday. The goal is to deliver memorable experiences, connecting passengers with the destination's attractions, culture and local communities while generating value for businesses.
Shanai St. Bernard, GTA's Nautical Development Manager, highlighted the importance of coordination between cruise lines, port partners and local operators. Effective planning, clear information and reliable services are essential to ensuring smooth arrivals and positive experiences ashore.
The busiest period is expected between December 2026 and February 2027, with 124 scheduled cruise calls during those three months.
As the season progresses, the Grenada Tourism Authority will continue strengthening industry partnerships, enhancing the visitor experience and promoting cruise tourism as a source of economic opportunities for communities throughout Grenada and Carriacou.
