Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, one of the world’s top-ranked adults-only resorts and considered by many travelers to be the number one resort in the Caribbean, has renewed its Green Globe Platinum recertification, reinforcing its global leadership in high-end sustainable tourism. Located on Eagle Beach, Aruba, one of the Caribbean’s most renowned beaches, the resort reaffirms its environmental commitment without compromising the premium experience that defines it.

In an interview with Crescenzia Biemans, Chief Corporate Officer of Bucuti & Tara, the executive highlighted the symbolic and operational importance of this recertification: “For us, it is an honor to be recertified because we were one of the first hotels to be certified by Green Globe. We are also the only hotel in the world to have achieved a 100% score twice, and we were named the most sustainable hotel in the world. That is a great responsibility and something we are very proud of.”

The main challenge, Biemans explains, is balancing sustainability with the guest experience. “Guests come to relax, to enjoy, not to think about anything. Our job is to do everything possible to be sustainable without affecting the premium stay they are paying for,” she emphasized. The resort’s strategy is to ensure that changes happen “in the background,” behind the scenes, without altering the traveler’s experience: “It’s about constant education, knowing what technology to implement and what changes we can make without the guest noticing.”

Along that path, the hotel is moving toward its goal of becoming Net Zero in Scopes 1 and 2, which has required deep operational changes—from a fully electric, gas-free kitchen to the modernization of key areas such as the laundry facilities. One of the most ambitious projects is the creation of a 130,000-square-meter private nature park, designed both to protect flora and fauna and to capture carbon from the atmosphere. “It’s a beautiful place where we also invite guests to experience a spectacular piece of Aruba’s nature and see the native animals that live there,” she explained.

Looking ahead to 2026, Bucuti & Tara is preparing a series of new experiences focused on romance, wellness, and connection. Among them is the launch of special babymoon offerings, a growing trend among couples who travel before the birth of a child. “We want to offer not only honeymoon experiences, but also experiences for that very special moment in life,” Biemans said.

The wellness pillar is also being strengthened with experiences such as sound healing, tantric yoga, and activities in Aruba National Park, in addition to the incorporation of medical wellness options with personalized medical guidance. On the culinary front, the resort took a major step forward with the opening of Terra, the restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Jeremy Ford, which in just two and a half months was named by Forbes as “the most sought-after reservation in Aruba.”

The transition toward Net Zero, far from implying sacrifices for guests, aims to enhance comfort. “Guests will notice better climate control, better air quality, and cooler, quieter spaces,” Biemans explained. Among the symbolic experiences that connect guests with the hotel’s vision is the activity “plant a little tree of love,” where couples can leave their own tree in the park and return over the years to see how it has grown, “just like the love they share.”

In terms of value proposition, Bucuti & Tara maintains a clear policy of transparency and inclusive services. “When you see the rate, all taxes are included, parking, Wi-Fi,” she said. In addition, the Dine Around program allows guests to use vouchers not only at the hotel’s restaurants but also at seven restaurants across the island, reinforcing the invitation to go out and discover Aruba: “It’s such a safe destination that we always tell guests: leave the hotel, experience the island. If you love Aruba, you will come back.”

The concept of a “guilt-free vacation” is central to the resort’s identity. “We are one of the most eco-certified hotels in the world because we truly do what we say. Everything is integrated in a very natural way—from drinking tap water to sleeping in an energy-efficient room or knowing that the hotel is carbon neutral. The guest doesn’t feel like they’re in an environmental lesson, but in a place where everything has been thought out before they arrive,” she explained.

The family history also makes a difference. Bucuti & Tara is an independent hotel, founded 38 years ago by Crescenzia Biemans’ grandfather. “He is the soul of this hotel. We are not part of a big chain where everything is the same everywhere. This is authentic—it’s like coming to our home,” she said. That bond is reflected in a striking figure: around 70% of guests return every year. “They tell us: I feel like I’ve come back home.”

For those looking to celebrate a honeymoon, renew vows, or simply enjoy a romantic getaway, the resort offers a fully personalized experience, with a dedicated concierge who organizes everything from in-hotel activities to experiences around the island. “It’s not a standard package. Here, every trip is tailor-made,” Biemans emphasized.

Information and reservations are available at bucuti.com, as well as through travel agencies in Argentina, Uruguay, and other Latin American countries, with direct hotel assistance available 24/7. “We are here waiting for everyone to visit us and to have an unforgettable and very romantic experience,” she concluded.

A Signature Babymoon Experience

Among the most original new offerings being prepared by Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort is the launch of a completely new babymoon experience, designed for couples expecting a child who want to enjoy a special getaway before the birth. According to Crescenzia Biemans, the project will include multiple wellness-focused experiences created specifically for this stage of life, along with personalized in-room details such as special amenities, pregnancy-friendly pillows, and thoughtful touches aimed at the comfort of the expectant mother. As a central part of the initiative, the resort is producing a children’s book titled The Adventure of Paco, starring Paco—the rescued bird that lives at the hotel—and Bruno and Luna, the rescued dogs of the founding family, who guide young readers on a journey across the island and its natural landscapes, with a message focused on love for nature and responsibility in caring for animals. The book, currently in the editing stage, will be released to the public and will become part of the experience, adding an emotional and educational dimension that reinforces the resort’s identity and its vision of new beginnings.
