Renowned UK television host and international travel influencer Alex Outhwaite recently visited Argentina’s Córdoba province, enjoying an immersive experience in San Javier and Yacanto, located in the heart of the Traslasierra Valley—a destination known for its natural beauty, living culture, and authentic travel experiences.

Over several days, Outhwaite followed a curated itinerary highlighting the village’s diversity and identity. San Javier and Yacanto were recognized by UN Tourism in 2025 through the Best Tourism Villages Upgrade Programme, underscoring their commitment to sustainability and community-led tourism.

Her journey included visits to mountain vineyards and boutique wineries, where she sampled award-winning wines and met local winemakers behind signature enotourism projects that are placing western Córdoba on Argentina’s wine map, including Achala and Aráoz de Lamadrid, the latter also honored with the 2025 Bitácora Award.

The experience continued at goat dairies and rural enterprises, where Alex explored artisanal production processes, learned about sustainable practices, and tasted regional cheeses celebrated for their quality and strong sense of place.

On the cultural side, she joined the traditional San Javier and Yacanto peña, enjoying folk music, dance, and regional cuisine, and visited the Las Rosas market, a landmark gathering of artisans and local producers. Her adventure concluded with outdoor activities in Argentina’s Trail Running Capital, hiking up to Puesto Ferreyra, capturing breathtaking images of the valley’s dramatic mountain landscapes.
