Buenos Aires, October 26, 2025 – In a historic day for Argentine politics, the coalition La Libertad Avanza (LLA), led by President Javier Milei, secured a decisive victory in the midterm legislative elections, garnering over 40% of the national vote. This result consolidates Milei’s position as he begins the second half of his term.

According to preliminary official data, LLA won 64 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, while the Peronist alliance Fuerza Patria (FP) came second with 31 seats. The coalition Provincias Unidas (PU), which debuted in 14 districts, failed to make a significant impact, while the Left obtained 3 seats.

Javier Milei: “Today marks the beginning of a great Argentina”

Buenos Aires – Amid cheers and chants from his supporters, President Javier Milei celebrated La Libertad Avanza’s sweeping victory in the 2025 legislative elections, describing the results as “a turning point” for Argentina’s political landscape.

Today we’ve crossed the threshold — the construction of a great Argentina begins,” Milei declared from the stage at the ruling party’s campaign headquarters, joined by Karina Milei, Secretary General of the Presidency, and his close advisor Santiago Caputo.

With the color violet dominating the atmosphere, the President highlighted the magnitude of the outcome and his movement’s growing strength in Congress. “If you could see how beautiful Argentina looks — violet suits her well,” he said, confirming that La Libertad Avanza has secured 64 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 13 in the Senate, consolidating its legislative power.

Milei thanked the Argentine people “for their confidence in this new democratic process” and praised the implementation of the Single Paper Ballot, used for the first time in a national election. “We stand for a transparent democracy. We said we would do it — and we did,” he emphasized.

He also expressed gratitude to his key ministers, Guillermo Francos and Luis Caputo, recognizing their efforts in the government’s economic and political management. In his speech, the President sent a message to former President Mauricio Macri, calling for unity “to join forces and defeat populism once and for all.”

Finally, Milei addressed Argentina’s provincial governors, announcing a new phase of deep reforms:
Starting December 10, we will have the most reformist Congress in Argentina’s history. It’s time to change, to build, and to make Argentina great again,” Milei concluded.

Victory in Key Districts

LLA’s triumph is supported by strong performances in CABA, Mendoza, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Entre Ríos, Chaco, San Luis, Salta, Corrientes, Jujuy, Tierra del Fuego, and Santa Cruz. In the Buenos Aires Province, a traditional Peronist stronghold, Milei and his team achieved a significant comeback and are in a tight race for victory, a surprising reversal after losing by 13 points in the September local elections.

Voter turnout reached nearly 68% of the electorate, highlighting strong citizen engagement. Additionally, the paper single ballot was used for the first time, aiming to simplify voting and ensure greater transparency.

Milei celebrated the victory as a mandate to continue his liberal reform agenda. “This triumph is a clear message from the Argentine people to continue on the path of change,” he said. Fuerza Patria acknowledged the defeat and announced an internal review of their strategy moving forward.

With this victory, La Libertad Avanza begins the second half of Milei’s term with a more favorable Congress, allowing him to advance his reforms, although political polarization and economic challenges will continue to shape Argentina’s agenda.
