Over 100 Global Tourism Leaders Endorse Gloria Guevara for UN Tourism Secretary-General
Gloria Guevara, a prominent leader in the travel and tourism sector, has received strong support from over 100 key figures in the global tourism industry for her candidacy as the next Secretary-General of UN Tourism.
Guevara, former Minister of Tourism of Mexico and CEO of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), has over 35 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Her campaign focuses on innovation, sustainable growth, and empowering local communities.
Among her supporters are 20 Ministers of Tourism and over 80 CEOs of global companies, who praise her ability to lead and transform the tourism industry worldwide.
"My vision is based on four pillars: resilience, opportunities, innovation, and sustainability," said Guevara. "Under my leadership, UN Tourism will strengthen its support to member states, driving economic and social development through tourism."
The broad coalition of support includes industry leaders such as Chris Nassetta of Hilton, Kurt Ekert of Sabre, and Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, who emphasize her capacity to foster shared prosperity and international collaboration.
