WTTC Announces Active Participation in FITUR 2025 to Boost Global Tourism
The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has confirmed its prominent presence at the upcoming International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR 2025), solidifying its role as a key event for the global tourism sector. Under the leadership of Julia Simpson, WTTC President & CEO, and Virginia Messina, Senior Vice President of the organization, strategic meetings will be held with global tourism leaders to discuss initiatives aimed at promoting the sector’s resilience and sustainability in the year ahead.
During this crucial gathering, Simpson emphasized the importance of strengthening collaborations within the global tourism sector: “Meeting with our members and representatives is essential to driving initiatives that enhance tourism’s contribution to the global economy, create more jobs, and improve conditions for local communities and the environment.”
Simpson is also scheduled to meet with officials from key destinations such as Argentina, Peru, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Barcelona, among others. These discussions aim not only to strengthen bilateral relations but also to explore growth opportunities and address common challenges in the current tourism landscape.
The WTTC will also host a working meeting and networking event that will bring together over 130 leaders from the private sector and authorities, who will share the latest data and trends in global tourism. This event will serve as a platform to promote open dialogue on emerging opportunities and challenges facing the industry.
“Spain, with its vast cultural and historical wealth, is the ideal setting to initiate these much-needed conversations for the future of global tourism,” Simpson noted. For the WTTC, collaboration between the public and private sectors remains essential to ensuring sustainable and long-term growth for all tourism-related activities worldwide.
The WTTC’s active participation in FITUR 2025 reaffirms its commitment to leading initiatives that promote a more resilient, sustainable, and inclusive tourism industry globally, thereby driving economic growth and improving the well-being of local communities through the transformative power of travel and tourism.
