The world’s largest cruise ship is about to get a sister. Royal Caribbean International has unveiled new details about its second Icon Class ship, Star of the Seas, which will set sail from Port Canaveral, Florida, near Orlando, in August 2025.

"Star of the Seas represents a bold step in this exciting new era of vacations, launched with Icon of the Seas, and positions the best vacation offering in the world at another top tourist destination," said Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.

The full lineup of unparalleled experiences includes everything from thrilling, fast, and tall waterslides to more than 40 dining and drinking options, combined with adventures in idyllic destinations like Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas. This unique combination promises to create unforgettable memories on 7-night voyages for all guests departing from Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida.

Starting in August 2025, families and vacationers of all kinds will be able to enjoy the acclaimed features first introduced on Icon of the Seas, along with new surprises such as the Lincoln Park Supper Club, a 1930s Chicago-inspired restaurant offering multi-course meals accompanied by live entertainment. The onboard experience will include everything from the six thrilling waterslides at Category 6 Waterpark to seven pools, each designed for different atmospheres, including the family-friendly Surfside neighborhood, as well as one of only two suspended infinity pools at sea, exclusive to adults at The Hideaway.

Star of the Seas will offer a groundbreaking combination of eight neighborhoods that are destinations in themselves, featuring a variety of restaurants, bars, live entertainment, and more. Highlighting five unique neighborhoods for both Icon and Star:

Thrill Island: Home to Category 6 Waterpark and its six record-breaking slides, along with attractions like Crown’s Edge, a skywalk and thrill ride 154 feet above the ocean, FlowRider, and mini-golf, along with dining options like Basecamp and Desserted. Chill Island: This three-level paradise hosts four of the seven pools, each with different atmospheres and ocean views, including the Swim & Tonic bar and Royal Bay, the largest pool at sea, with live bands, DJs, and spots for enjoying drinks and casual food. Surfside: Designed for young families, it offers splash areas like Splashaway Bay and Baby Bay, as well as dining options like Surfside Eatery and The Lemon Post bar, with choices for both adults and kids. AquaDome: A serene oasis by day and a lively gathering spot by night, featuring shows at the AquaTheater and a variety of dining options like AquaDome Market and bars like Rye & Bean and The Overlook, offering stunning views. The Hideaway: Perched 135 feet above the ocean, this adults-only space features a suspended infinity pool, a dedicated DJ, a bar, a terrace with whirlpools, and panoramic ocean views. Additionally, reimagined favorites like the Royal Promenade, Pearl—the largest kinetic sculpture in the world—and over 15 restaurants, bars, and lounges complete the Icon Class vacation experience on Star, along with the luxurious Suite Neighborhood.
