Belize Embarks on a New Tourism Strategy in Partnership with TM Americas to Position Itself in Latin America
Belize aims to stand out on the regional tourism radar with a comprehensive and appealing marketing strategy, capitalizing on its natural, cultural, and gastronomic riches to attract travelers from Latin America and around the world.
In its first promotional move, TM Americas organized a virtual presentation aimed at Latin American media, featuring prominent representatives, including executives from the Belize Tourist Board and key companies like Copa Airlines.
This inaugural virtual gathering saw the participation of Nicole Solano and Deborah Gilharry, CEO and Travel Trade Specialist, respectively, of the Belize Tourist Board; Raphael De Lucca, Copa Airlines' Country Manager for Brazil; and Victor Manjarres, president of TM Americas.
The presentation highlighted Belize's impressive landscape diversity, spanning 290 km of coastline with white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, an extensive coral barrier recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site, and lush tropical rainforests with historical Maya cultural remnants and abundant flora and fauna.
In addition to its natural allure, Belize offers a unique blend of cultures and traditions reflected in its music, dances, festivities, and exotic cuisine, particularly renowned for its seafood, including crabs, lobsters, shrimp, and exotic fish. The Garifuna cuisine, featuring dishes like Hudut, stands as a clear example of this culinary richness.
To foster closer ties with tourism professionals, the Belize Tourist Board has implemented special programs such as "Unbelizeable Rewards," which rewards professionals with hotel night points, and "Especialistaenbelize.es," a training program for travel agents.
Regarding accessibility, Copa Airlines offers a weekly flight from its Hub of the Americas in Panama, with additional frequencies during high season. Daily flights are also available from the United States via Miami, Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta with American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Air Lines.
The objective of this new strategy is to strengthen connections with the press and the tourism sector in Latin America, raising awareness and interest in Belize as an exceptional tourist destination. The country's diverse attractions and services cater to various traveler profiles, making it an appealing recommendation for tourists from the region and beyond.
Moreover, the country is committed to sustainability and environmental protection, surrounded by coral reefs that provide coastal protection even under extreme conditions. While rainfall is infrequent, it can be intense when it occurs.
In conclusion, Belize is striving to shine on the regional tourism stage through a comprehensive and enticing marketing strategy, leveraging its natural, cultural, and gastronomic wealth to attract travelers from Latin America and around the world.
